Smoky BBQ Honey Glazed Carrots

Smoky BBQ Honey Glazed Carrots

We’re taking ordinary to extraordinary! These Smoky Barrel BBQ Honey Glazed Carrots are sweet, buttery, smoky, and packed with flavor. We're using Pappy Dan Sprinkles Smoky Barrel BBQ, made with real smoke from 15-year Pappy Van Winkle® bourbon barrels, to bring deep smoky BBQ flavor and subtle charred-oak character to the natural sweetness of the carrots. As the water cooks down, the honey, butter, and seasoning create a rich, glossy glaze that coats every carrot. Just a handful of ingredients and about 15 minutes on the stovetop, and you've got a Dan-Good side dish the whole family will love!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Pappy Dan Sprinkles Smoky Barrel BBQ
  • 2 lbs baby carrots, peeled with stems attached
  • 3 cups water
  • 4 tbsp butter (½ stick)
  • 2 tbsp honey

Preparation Instructions

  1. Combine the Ingredients: Add the carrots and water to a large skillet or shallow pan. Add the butter, Pappy Dan Sprinkles Smoky Barrel BBQ, and honey.
  2. Bring to a Boil: Bring the mixture to a boil and let the carrots cook as the water begins to evaporate. Use tongs to gently stir occasionally, distributing the seasoning evenly throughout the liquid.
  3. Reduce the Liquid: Continue boiling for approximately 10–14 minutes, allowing the liquid to reduce. The carrots should begin to soften as the water evaporates. Keep an eye on the pan as the liquid gets low, since the reduction will happen quickly toward the end.
  4. Glaze the Carrots: Once most of the water has evaporated, use a spatula to gently turn the carrots, coating them in the remaining butter, honey, and seasoning. Continue cooking for another 1–2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the carrots are tender and coated in a thick, glossy glaze. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  5. Serve: Remove from the heat and Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
