Flavors Used:

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Pappy Dan Sprinkles Smoky Barrel BBQ Seasoning
  • 2 15 oz cans of pumpkin puree, canned
  • 4 cups vegetable broth, low sodium
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 5 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp minced garlic

Let’s Make It!

  1. Grab a large saucepan or Dutch oven and heat it over medium-high heat. Add the butter and diced onions, then sauté until the onions are soft, tender, and fragrant.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute, stirring frequently.
  3. Stir in the pumpkin purée, vegetable broth, 3 sprigs of fresh thyme, and the Dan-O’s Pappy Dan Sprinkles Smoky Barrel BBQ Seasoning. Give everything a good stir until combined, then heat until the soup just starts to boil.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. This gives all those savory, herby flavors time to come together into one deliciously cozy bowl.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and let the soup cool slightly. Add the heavy cream and blend everything with an immersion blender until smooth and velvety. Using a regular blender? Carefully blend in batches, then return the soup to the pot.
  6. Ladle your Creamy Pumpkin Soup into bowls and garnish with the remaining fresh thyme. Serve warm with a side of crusty bread for dipping, because you won't want to leave a single drop behind! Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!®
