We’re taking a childhood favorite and giving it a Dan-O’s twist! These Muddy Buddies combine crispy Rice Chex cereal with rich melted chocolate, creamy peanut butter, and a sweet powdered sugar coating. But here’s where it gets even better! We’re mixing in Dan-O’s Delights Choco Crunch Seasoning for an extra burst of chocolatey goodness and a little crunch in every bite. It’s an easy sweet treat that’s perfect for sharing with family and friends. Trust me, you’re gonna want to keep a batch of these around!

Ingredients

⅓ cup Dan-O’s Delights Choc-O Crunch
1 (10 oz) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup creamy peanut butter
¼ cup unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 (12 oz) box Rice Chex cereal (about 11 cups)
1½ cups powdered sugar

Let’s Make It!

Prepare the Double Boiler: Bring a pot of water to a boil, then reduce the heat to a low simmer. Place a heatproof bowl over the pot, making sure the bottom does not touch the water.
Melt the Chocolate Mixture: Add the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and unsalted butter to the bowl. Stir gently for 5–7 minutes, until completely melted and smooth. Keep the heat low to prevent the chocolate from overheating.
Add the Vanilla: Remove the bowl from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract until fully combined.
Coat the Cereal: Pour the Rice Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl. Add the melted chocolate mixture and gently toss until the cereal is evenly coated, being careful not to crush the pieces.
Prepare the Choc-O Crunch Coating: In a separate bowl, combine the powdered sugar and Dan-O’s Delights Choco Crunch Seasoning. Mix well to evenly distribute the chocolate crunchies throughout the powdered sugar.
Coat the Muddy Buddies: Sprinkle half of the powdered sugar mixture over the chocolate-coated cereal and gently toss to coat. Add the remaining mixture and continue tossing until the cereal is evenly covered.
Let Cool: Spread the Muddy Buddies in an even layer on a large tray or baking sheet. Allow them to cool for about 20 minutes, or until the chocolate coating has set.
Serve: Once cooled, transfer the Muddy Buddies to a serving bowl and Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
