Supreme Pizza Dip

Looking for a perfect Game Day recipe to serve guests? You gotta try this supreme pizza dip, we’re talkin’ pepperoni, onions, and bell peppers all stirred up in a rich, thick tomato sauce. But we ain’t stopping there—no sir! We’re gonna top it with a mountain of gooey, melty cheese.

Now, here’s the kicker: serve it right in the skillet. Let your guests grab those baguette slices, load ’em up with all that goodness, and boom! It’s like a deep-dish pizza party right on your plate. That’s what I call Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!®

Want to add a spicy kick to this dish? Use some Dan-O’s Red Pepper Cheesoning®

Game Day recipes are even better with Dan-O’s, like this Cajun queso dip or these fried pickles.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Dan-O's Italian-O Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Dan-O's Cheesoning® Seasoning or Red Pepper Cheesoning® for a spicy kick
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (2 tsp jarred garlic)
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • One 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/3 cup pitted black olives, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or spray
  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Dice most of the pepperoni, leave a few whole or diced for the top.
  3. Heat a medium cast-iron or ovenproof skillet over medium heat until hot. Add the diced pepperoni and cook, stirring, until crisp, 4 to 5 minutes. Add the onions, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook, stirring, until the onions are tender and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the tomato paste and cook, stirring, about 1 minute. Stir in the can of tomatoes and their juice and 1 tbsp Dan-O's Italian-O.
  5. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is slightly thickened, about 15 minutes.
  6. While that's cooking, grab a baking sheet and lay the baguette slices on it and spray with olive oil (or brush on) and sprinkle with Italian-O. Bake until crisp, about 7-9 minutes.
  7. Stir in the olives, 1 tbsp Cheesoning® and Parmesan into the skillet and remove from the heat.
  8. Make sure bread is removed form oven and preheat the broiler.
  9. Sprinkle the mozzarella and remaining pepperoni on top of sauce. Place skillet under the broiler about 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted.
  10. Serve dip warm with the toasted baguette slices.
