Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O's Italian-O Seasoning
  • Dan-O's Cheesoning® Seasoning
  • 4 large bell peppers (any color you love—or mix and match!)
  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup cooked rice (any kind will do)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix!)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Prep the Peppers: Slice off the tops of the bell peppers and hollow out the seeds and ribs like you’re cleaning out a pumpkin at Halloween. Keep the tops if you want to be cute and use them as lids later.
  3. Lightly drizzle the hollowed peppers and tops if you kept them with olive oil and pop them in a baking dish. Pre-bake at 375°F for about 10 minutes while you prep the filling.
  4. Make the Filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 3 minutes. Toss in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds. Add the ground beef, breaking it up as it browns. Season with Dan-O's Italian-O™ Seasoning, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  5. Stir in the cooked rice, drained tomatoes, and half the cheese. Mix everything together like it’s a big flavor party.
  6. Stuff the Peppers: Remove the pre-baked peppers from the oven (careful, they’re hot!). Generously stuff them with your delicious filling, packing it in tightly because no one likes a half-filled pepper.
  7. Top each pepper with the remaining cheese and Sprinkle Generously® with Dan-O's Cheesoning®. If you saved the tops, you can put them back on now for some serious presentation points.
  8. Return the stuffed peppers to the oven and bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley or basil for a pop of color and serve warm.

  1. These are great but I used Dan-o spicy, (that’s the red top) and Dan-p crunchy, ( that’s the black top) and used ground pork sausage and ground beef. Try it Dan
