It’s light, it’s crispy, it’s packed with that Lemon Pepper kick… straight-up Dan-O-Myte!

Ingredients

  • 1 packet Dan-O’s Dips Dill - set 1 tsp aside for sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Lemon Pepper Seasoning
  • ½ - 1 cup flour
  • 1-2 large eggs
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 or 2 large filets of cod, cut into 4-inch burger-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Cooking spray oil
  • Buns of your choice
  • Optional toppings: Tomato slices, arugula, red onion slices, sliced cheese like Gouda or cheddar

For the Aioli:

  • 1 tsp Dan-O’s Dips Dill
  • 1 tsp Dan-O’s Lemon Pepper Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (¼ lemon)

Preparation Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your air fryer to 400°F—get it nice and hot.
  2. Mix up your aioli by combining all the ingredients in a small bowl. Give it a stir and set it aside—we’ll come back to that goodness.
  3. Now set up your breading station. In one shallow dish, mix flour with 1 tablespoon of Dan-O’s Dips Dill and 1 tablespoon of Dan-O’s Lemon Pepper. In a second dish, lightly beat your eggs. In a third dish, mix your panko breadcrumbs with another tablespoon of Dan-O’s Dips Dill.
  4. Pat your cod dry with a paper towel—this helps it crisp up real nice. Hit it with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a sprinkle of Dan-O’s Lemon Pepper for that fresh, zesty kick.
  5. Time to bread it up! Take each piece of cod and dredge it in the flour mixture, shake off the extra, then dip it into the egg, letting any excess drip off. Finish it in the panko mixture, pressing lightly so it sticks.
  6. Place the coated cod into your air fryer basket (give it a quick spray with cooking oil first). Cook at 400°F for about 5–7 minutes per side, until it’s golden, crispy, and flakes easily. Keep an eye on it—you want that perfect crunch, not a burn.
  7. Now build that sandwich! Stack that crispy cod on your bun, slather on that aioli, and pile on your favorite toppings.
  8. Take a bite and—Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!®
