Italian Double Lemon Pepper Chicken

Italian Double Lemon Pepper Chicken

Flavors Used:

If you like lemon pepper chicken, this one’s about to speak your Dan-language. This Italian Double Lemon Pepper Chicken is buttery, bright, and loaded with bold flavor from Dan-O’s Lemon Pepper and Dan-O’s Italiano Seasoning. The big trick here is pounding the chicken thin so it cooks fast, stays tender, and gives you more surface area for that Dan-Good seasoning and flour coating to build a golden crust. Another solid move is letting the chicken finish in the sauce instead of trying to cook it all the way through up front—that keeps it juicy and helps all that buttery, lemony flavor soak right in. Then you hit it with fresh lemon juice at the end to keep that citrus flavor fresh and bold. It’s simple, quick, and straight-up DAN-O-MYTE.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Lemon Pepper Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Italian-O Seasoning
  • 2 medium chicken breasts, halved and pounded thin
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1 medium shallot, chopped
  • 4-5 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 lemon, juiced

Preparation Instructions

  1. Prep the Chicken: Cut the chicken breasts in half and pound them thin. Sprinkle generously with Dan-O’s Lemon Pepper Seasoning, then coat each piece in flour.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat the oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Place the chicken in the pan and cook for 2 minutes on the first side. Flip and cook for about 1 minute on the second side. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside. The chicken may not be fully cooked through at this stage.
  3. Deglaze the Pan: Pour the chicken stock into the pan to deglaze, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Reduce the heat to medium-low.
  4. Build the Sauce: Add the chopped shallot, chopped garlic, unsalted butter, and Dan-O’s Italian-O Seasoning. Stir until the butter is melted and everything is combined. Raise the heat to medium-high and let the sauce come together.
  5. Return the Chicken: Place the chicken back into the pan. Let it simmer in the sauce for about 3- 5 minutes so it finishes cooking and the sauce starts to thicken.
  6. Add the Lemon: Squeeze in the fresh lemon juice, making sure to remove any seeds. Let the chicken simmer for a couple more minutes, flipping as needed, until the sauce is well combined.
  7. Serve: Slice the chicken, plate it, and spoon the sauce over the top. Serve hot. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
