This tomato and cottage cheese salad is a great high-protein, low-carb, and low-calorie meal that can be made in just a few minutes. It takes just a couple of simple ingredients and you can get a tasty lunch, snack, or side dish.

A Great Source of Protein

Cottage cheese is a great source of protein. Just one full cup of cottage cheese is worth up to 24 grams of protein. Plus, you add in the bacon bits, that’s an additional 36 grams of protein. That’s 60 grams of protein total in just one salad dish. 

We know that cottage cheese isn’t meant for everyone, but we are pretty confident that this recipe could change your mind. You have to try it with some of our Spicy Dan-O’s Seasoning. Follow the steps below and try it for yourself.


  • 1 sliced tomato
  • 1 cup of cottage cheese
  • Dan-O’s Spicy Seasoning
  • A few large leaves of Iceberg lettuce
  • 1 3oz bag of bacon bits

Prep Time

10 Mins


  1. Wash lettuce then tear off a few large leaves to serve as your base. Then place the sliced tomato on top.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, mix Dan-O’s with the cottage cheese and place that on top of the tomato. 
  3. Finally, sprinkle with bacon bits and enjoy!
