Honey Ham Sliders

Honey Ham Sliders

Flavors Used:

The holiday season brings a great deal with it and chief among them is the holiday ham. That’s why we whipped up this honey ham sliders recipe for you to get some extra mileage out of all leftover ham! These are simple to make with their sweet Hawaiian rolls, Swiss cheese, thick ham slices, and a little mustard but they’re a real treat to eat. The spicy Dan-O’s gives it a gentle heat that balances the sweetness of the ham and rolls out. One taste of these honey ham sliders, and you’ll be buying honey hams year round!

The right mustard for the job

In my opinion, the greatest companion to ham is a good mustard. Something about the sweetness of a honey baked ham combined with the bitter tanginess of the mustard is just mouthwatering. However, not all mustards are created equal. Let’s break down the best mustard for the job.

The most common and basic mustard is just traditional yellow. It’s simple with a clean and sharp flavor. Spicing it up, we have spicy brown mustard. This mustard is made from brown mustard seeds and offers a little more heat and texture in every bite. You also have Dijon mustard which is a more robust and pungent mustard that is great for these honey ham sliders. At the end of the day the mustard you choose is up to personal preference, but for my tastes I prefer a Dijon for these honey ham sliders!

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of King's Hawaiian Rolls
  • Thick sliced ham
  • Leftover ham drippings from Honey Baked Ham
