Roasted Cajun Ranch Okra

Roasted Cajun Ranch Okra

Flavors Used:

If you see fresh okra at the store, here’s a little trick: snap the end and if it pops right off, you know you’ve got some good, fresh okra! This Cajun Ranch Okra is super simple and anybody can make it. Fresh okra gets tossed with Dan-O’s Dips Ranch and Dan-O’s Cajun Seasoning, then roasted cut-side down at high heat until those edges get nice and crispy. Serve it up with a creamy Cajun ranch dipping sauce for a bold, crispy, Dan-Good side dish or snack!

Ingredients

  • 1 packet Dan-O’s Dips Ranch, divided
  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Cajun Seasoning, divided
  • 1 lb fresh okra
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • ⅓ cup buttermilk

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F. Leave the baking sheet unlined so the okra can make direct contact with the pan and develop a crispier cut side.
  2. Prepare the Okra: Slice each piece of okra lengthwise down the middle and place the pieces in a large bowl.
  3. Season the Okra: Drizzle the okra with the olive oil. Sprinkle about ¾ of the Dan-O’s Dips Ranch packet over the okra, reserving the remaining seasoning for the dipping sauce. Add 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Cajun Seasoning and toss until the okra is evenly coated.
  4. Arrange and Roast: Arrange the seasoned okra cut-side down in a single layer on the baking sheet. Roast at 425°F for 25 minutes, or until the okra is tender and the cut sides are browned and crispy.
  5. Make the Cajun Ranch: While the okra roasts, add the reserved Dan-O’s Dips Ranch and remaining 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Cajun Seasoning to a small bowl. Add the mayonnaise and buttermilk, then whisk until smooth and well combined.
  6. Serve: Transfer the roasted okra to a serving plate and serve hot with the Cajun ranch dipping sauce on the side. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
