Korean BBQ Shrimp

We're bringing some serious flavor to shrimp with this quick and easy Korean Pop BBQ Glazed Shrimp! We're mixing soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, green onions, and a touch of sesame oil with Dan-O's Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ for a sweet, savory, garlicky sauce packed with bold umami flavor and a little kick. Let those shrimp soak up all that goodness, then cook them right in the marinade until they're perfectly tender. Flavors Used:

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Dan-O's Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ
  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1 heaping tbsp light brown sugar
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • ¼ tsp roasted sesame oil
  • 2 cups cooked rice, for serving (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked vegetables of choice, for serving (optional)

Let’s Make It!

  1. Make the Korean Pop BBQ Marinade: In a large skillet, combine the soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, green onions, and roasted sesame oil. Add Dan-O's Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ and stir until the brown sugar dissolves and everything is well combined.
  2. Marinate the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet, making sure they're fully coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes to let the shrimp absorb all those flavors.
  3. Cook the Shrimp: Place the skillet over high heat and bring the marinade to a boil. Cook the shrimp for approximately 4 minutes, turning halfway through, until they're pink, opaque, and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce the Sauce: Keep the skillet over high heat and let the remaining sauce boil for approximately 1 minute, or until it reduces into a thick, syrupy glaze. Stir occasionally as the sauce reduces and thickens.
  5. Glaze the Shrimp: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the sticky Korean Pop BBQ glaze.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Serve the glazed shrimp hot over rice with your favorite vegetables, or enjoy them on their own. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
