Slow Cooker Pork Chops

Slow Cooker Pork Chops

Flavors Used:

Bust out your slow cooker, it’s time to use it for more than soups! So many things can be put in and forgotten about for a while and then magically you have a delicious meal ready for you! This Slow Cooker Pork Chops recipe has just one pre-forget-it-for-a-while step to make it Dantastic®!

Can you toss raw pork straight into a slow cooker? Technically, yes. But if you want that kissed-by-the-cooking-gods flavor, it’s worth the extra step to sear the meat first. (Pro tip: this applies to chicken and beef, too—don’t play favorites!) This recipe? It’s all about giving your boneless pork chops a golden crust that says, “I care,” before letting them lounge in the slow cooker. Plus, you’ll kickstart a rich, flavorful gravy right in the same pan. Trust us, your taste buds will thank you.

Serve this with a side of Creamy Mashed Potatoes and some Cajun Green Beans for a meal you won’t forget!

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp and 1 tbsp Dan-O's Preem-O Seasoning
  • 8 1-inch thick boneless pork loin chops (about 3lbs)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp chopped, fresh thyme leaves, plus more for garnish
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • One 10.75 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 1/4 cups chicken broth
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme

Preparation Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 tsp Dan-O's Preem-O, and chopped thyme. Dredge each side of the pork chops in the flour mixture, then set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the oil and butter. Add the pork chops to the pan and cook for 3 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Do not clean the skillet - Add the onions to it and cook for about 5 minutes, until lightly golden then remove from the heat.
  4. In a 6-8 quart slow cooker, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth and 1 tbsp Dan-O's Preem-O™. Add the onions and thyme sprigs, then place the pork chops into the broth mixture.
  5. Cover and cook over high heat for 1 hour, then reduce to low heat for 2 more hours, until tender.
  6. Serve the pork chops with some of the gravy, onions, and a sprinkle of fresh thyme leaves, over cooked egg noodles or mashed potatoes, if you like.
