Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Dan-O's Cajun
  • ½ pound bacon
  • 2 medium shallots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced plus 1 tbsp minced
  • 2 pounds green beans, trimmed
  • 32 oz chicken stock

Preparation Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or pot, cut bacon in small pieces and cook the bacon over medium-high heat until bacon starts to become crispy and then leave the rendered fat in the pan.
  2. Add the fresh minced garlic and diced shallots to the skillet with the bacon. Cook for about 1 minute, stirring occasionally until fragrant.
    Stir in the trimmed green beans, ensuring they are well coated with the fresh minced garlic and shallots.
  3. Pour in the chicken stock, followed by the Dan-O's Cajun. Stir to combine all ingredients.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook uncovered. This allows the flavors to concentrate as the broth reduces.
  5. Let the green beans cook for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and the broth has cooked out.
  6. Finally, add the remaining tablespoon of the garlic to the pot, stirring well to incorporate.
  7. Once cooked to your desired tenderness, remove from heat and serve warm. Enjoy your Cajun green beans with bacon!
