Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon Dan-O’s Cajun
  • 1 ½ pounds Brussels sprouts
  • 1 pound bacon
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • ½ white onion, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, sliced
  • Cooking oil (for skillet)

Preparation Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Boil the Brussels sprouts in a large pot of water for 10 minutes. After boiling, drain and set them aside to cool.
  2. Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet, heat a small amount of cooking oil over medium heat. Cut the bacon into small pieces and add it to the skillet. Cook until crispy, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the bacon is crispy, add the red bell pepper, onion, and jalapeño to the skillet. Stir to coat the vegetables in the bacon grease.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture cook for a few minutes.
  5. Trim the ends off the boiled Brussels sprouts and cut them in half.
  6. Add the halved Brussels sprouts to the skillet with the bacon and vegetables.
  7. Sprinkle in the Dan-O’s Cajun and toss everything together to evenly distribute the flavor.
  8. Cook until the Brussels sprouts are warmed through. Once everything is hot, remove from heat and serve immediately.
