How To Build The Perfect Burger

How To Build The Perfect Burger

Flavors Used:

It’s burger season, my friends, and this is how you build the perfect burger the Dan-O’s way. We’re taking ground beef, working in Dan-O’s Preem-O Seasoning, and letting those bold flavors hydrate before cooking. Then we’re stacking it up with melty American cheese, crunchy lettuce, thin-sliced tomato, thin-sliced onion, dill pickles, mayo, and mustard. The trick is slicing the onion and tomato nice and thin so you get all the flavor without everything sliding off when you take that first big bite. Serve these up at a cookout, tailgate, or backyard dinner with Dan-O’s Cajun fries, Dan-O’s Two-Way Potato Salad, or your favorite Dan-O’s side dish. You don’t know till you Dan-O!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Preem-O Seasoning, plus more for sprinkling
  • 2 lb 80/20 ground beef
  • 6 American cheese slices
  • 6 hamburger buns, toasted
  • 18 hamburger dill pickle chips
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 12–18 small pieces of hydroponic lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup mustard

Preparation Instructions

  1. Season the Beef: Add the ground beef to a bowl. Sprinkle in Dan-O’s Preem-O Seasoning. Mix until the seasoning is evenly worked into the meat. Let the beef sit for 20 minutes so the flavors can hydrate into the meat.
  2. Shape the Burger Patties: Portion the beef into ⅓ lb burger balls. Press each ball into an even patty. Push down in the middle, shape the sides, flip it in your hand, and keep working it until the patty is even. Sprinkle the tops of the patties with more Dan-O’s Preem-O Seasoning.
  3. Prep the Onion and Tomato: Slice the onion as thin as possible, until the slices are almost translucent. Slice the tomato nice and thin so you can stack it on the burger without it sliding out.
  4. Cook the Burgers: Heat the cooking surface to medium temperature. Add the burger patties and cook for about 2 minutes. Flip the burgers. Close the lid and cook for about 2 minutes. Add American cheese slices to the burgers. Close the lid again and cook for about 1 minute, until the cheese is melted and the burgers are done.
  5. Toast the Buns: Toast the hamburger buns until golden and toasty.
  6. Build the Burgers: Spread a thick coating of mayonnaise on the bottom bun and a little mayonnaise on the top bun. Add 3 hamburger dill pickle chips to the bottom bun. Place the cheeseburger patty on top. Add 2–3 pieces of lettuce. Add 2 thin tomato slices. Add 2–3 thin onion slices. Top with mustard. Add the top bun.
  7. Serve: Now you’ve built the perfect burger. Serve hot, and Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
