My friends, if you need an easy St. Patrick’s Day meal that’s big on flavor and low on fuss, this one is your lucky day. We’re taking ham, bacon, cabbage, and onion, then hitting it with Dan-O’s Outlaw Butter Dust, Dan-O’s Italian-O Seasoning, Dan-O’s Original Seasoning, and Dan-O’s Spicy Seasoning for a skillet that’s straight-up DAN-O-MYTE. It comes together fast, cooks in one pot, and you can take your cabbage a little further if you like it softer.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Outlaw Butter Dust
  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Italian-O Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Original Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Spicy Seasoning
  • 3/4 lb bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1lb ham steak or ham slab
  • 1 medium head of cabbage, cut into small slivers

Preparation Instructions

  1. Prep the Ham: Trim the fatty parts from the ham. Dice the ham into small chunks.
  2. Cook the Bacon: Add the bacon to a large pot or pan. Cook over medium-high heat until the bacon has rendered its grease. Reduce the heat to medium.
  3. Add and Season: Add the onion, ham, and cabbage to the pot. Season generously with Dan-O’s Outlaw Butter Dust. Add Dan-O’s Italian-O Seasoning, Dan-O’s Original Seasoning, and Dan-O’s Spicy Seasoning. Mix everything together well.
  4. Cover and Cook: Place a lid on the pot to help speed up the cooking. Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring after about 3 minutes. Continue cooking until the cabbage is wilted to your liking.
  5. Finish and Serve: Turn off the heat. Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
