Fried Turkey with Preem-O

Fried Turkey with Preem-O

Flavors Used:

A deep-fried turkey has become a culinary highlight in modern Thanksgiving celebrations, especially since the 20th century. This innovative cooking method offers a delightful alternative to the traditional Thanksgiving meal, combining the rich flavors of a classic turkey with the crisp texture only achieved through deep frying. Introduced as part of the national Thanksgiving Day tradition, fried turkey is the perfect complement to other Dan-O’s holiday favorites such as Smashed & Mashed Potatoes, Homemade Green Bean Casserole, and Turkey Gravy.

Ingredients

  • Dan-O's Preem-O Seasoning
  • Turkey
  • Peanut oil
  • Olive oil

Preparation Instructions

Preparation:

  1. Brine the turkey for a day before cooking.
  2. Pat dry the turkey thoroughly with paper towels.
  3. Coat the turkey evenly with cooking oil as a binder.
  4. Generously season the turkey, including the cavity, with Dan-O's Preem-O for a rich, savory flavor.

Frying Setup:

  1. Fill the frying pot with peanut oil to the required level, which is critical for the deep fry process.
  2. Heat the oil to 375°F, ensuring there is no water in the pot.

Deep Frying the Turkey:

  1. Secure the turkey to the fryer hook, legs pointing up.
  2. Turn off the flame before carefully lowering the turkey into the oil.
  3. Carefully monitor the cooking process, maintaining a steady temperature of 350°F.
  4. Follow the guideline of minutes per pound, cooking for about 40-45 minutes.

Post-Cooking:

  1. Remove the turkey and let it rest for about an hour before carving.

  1. I’ve. Earn using a charbroil air fryer. Ate almost as fast no danger and no need to babysit. You just use the thermometer and it notifies you when it’s done. Simple no mess no trouble.
