Pie for breakfast? Not a far fetched idea with this sausage crust breakfast pie! Savory breakfast sausage as the crust with fresh crisp vegetables mixed with ricotta and egg to make a mouthwatering filling. This is a great meal prep item to start the week, easily offering up enough for several breakfasts worth. It also makes for a great dinner if you’re in the mood for a cheesy savory dish. We used Dan-O’s Original but you could try it with Dan-O’s Spicy Seasoning for a kick of heat, or a Chipotle Seasoning for a smoky Midwest feel. A personal favorite is Dan-O’s Crunchy Seasoning which offers some crunch to the munch!


  • 9 Eggs
  • 1 lb Sausage
  • Roma tomatoes
  • Jalapenos
  • ¼ cup red onion
  • 3 oz fresh spinach
  • 8 oz ricotta cheese
  • Dan-O’s Original Seasoning

Preparation Instructions

  1. Place the sausage into a pie dish and press into the dish. Spread thinly in a bowl.
  2. Whisk the eggs, and then add diced up Roma, jalapeno, onion, spinach and ricotta cheese. Mix thoroughly together.
  3. Pour the egg mixture into the dish on top of the sausage.
  4. Bake at 400° F until lightly golden brown on top, about 30-35 minutes. Serve and enjoy!

  1. Dan O! Love your spices. Have gone through a whole bottle of spicy, I need a vegetable beef soup using original and spicy. It’s soup time of the year. Have given bottles of spicy to friends. Added spicy to Shepherds pie. Game changer! Yum Yum get you some!
