Bloody Mary Shrimp with Rice

Bloody Mary Shrimp with Rice

Flavors Used:

One of my favorite things to do in the kitchen is just grab some ingredients, get inspired, and start cooking. It is so simple but looks fancy. Today we’re making a Bloody Mary shrimp dish with rice, and let me tell you, this one turned out to be DAN-O-MYTE. We’ve got shrimp marinated with Bloody Mary mix and Dan-O’s Outlaw Blackened Bloody Mary, cooked up with peppers and onions, then served over buttery basmati rice made with Dan-O’s Butter Dust. Simple ingredients, big flavor, and a winner for dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Outlaw Blackened Bloody Mary
  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Outlaw Butter Dust
  • basmati rice, 1 cup
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 lb shrimp with tails on, deveined and butterflied
  • 2 cups Bloody Mary mix
  • 6 sweet bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 jalapeño, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 garlic clove, diced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

Preparation Instructions

  1. Cook the Butter Dust Rice: Add the basmati rice to a pot. Pour in water and sprinkle in Dan-O’s Outlaw Butter Dust. Cover with a lid and cook until the rice is done, about 25 minutes.
  2. Prep the Shrimp: Leave the shrimp tails on. Slice down the back of each shrimp to butterfly them so they curl when cooked. Place the prepared shrimp in a mixing bowl. Add all vegetables to the bowl with the shrimp.
  3. Make the Bloody Mary Marinade: Pour Bloody Mary mix into the bowl. Sprinkle in Dan-O’s Outlaw Blackened Bloody Mary. Toss everything together until coated.
  4. Marinate: Let the shrimp and vegetables sit in the marinade for 5 minutes while the rice continues cooking.
  5. Start the Pan: Heat butter and oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  6. Cook the Shrimp Mixture: Add the marinated shrimp and vegetables to the pan. Cook for about 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Allow the sauce to cook down and thicken slightly.
  7. Finish the Sauce: Turn off the heat at around the 25-minute mark. Add a splash of soy sauce and stir to combine.
  8. Plate the Dish: Spoon the Butter Dust basmati rice into bowls. Top with the Bloody Mary shrimp and vegetables. Spoon the sauce from the pan over everything. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
