Turkey Patties with Mushroom and Basil Topping

Dan-O’s Crunchy adds a savory crunch to the turkey and the smoky heat of the mushrooms makes each mouthful a Dantastic burst of complex flavors. A thin layer of Dijon mustard adds a subtle tangy kick that perfectly complements the savory richness of these turkey patties, while a sprinkle of fresh basil infuses a herbaceous note that elevates the flavor with every bite.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Dan-O's Crunchy
  • 1/4 tsp Dan-O's Chipotle
  • 1 pound lean ground turkey
  •  1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh basil leaves

Preparation Instructions

  1. In bowl, stir together turkey, 1/4 cup basil, Dan-O's Crunchy and form into 4 patties.
  2. In nonstick skillet, heat 1 tbsp oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook patties for 5 minutes, turn over and cook for 4 minutes or until no longer pink in center.
  4. Transfer to plate and cover to keep warm.
  5. Heat remaining oil, add mushrooms, onion, a sprinkle of salt, and Dan-O's Chipotle for 4 mins or until the onion is soft, stirring frequently.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in remaining basil.
  7. To serve, spread mustard over patties and top with mushroom mixture.
