Flavors Used:

This Fried Dill Pickle Dip is a crowd-pleaser for any party. This zesty dip combines the smoky flavors and crunch of dill pickles with crispy bacon and creamy cheese. What makes this recipe truly special is its simplicity. Serve it with wavy chips, and you’ve got a Dantastic® appetizer!

Ingredients

  • Dan-O’s Outlaw Spicy BBQ
  • 1 pound bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 24 fl oz dill pickles, chopped (reserve 2 oz of the dill pickle juice)
  • 2 blocks cream cheese, softened
  • 2 (8-ounce) containers sour cream (or 1 (16-ounce) container)
  • Wavy chips (for serving)

Preparation Instructions

  1. Cook the Bacon: In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until it is about halfway cooked. Sprinkle Dan-O's Outlaw Spicy BBQ over the bacon and stir to combine.
  2. Continue cooking until the bacon is crispy. Set aside three-fourths of the cooked bacon and drain the excess grease.
  3. Toast the Panko Breadcrumbs: In the same skillet, add 2 cups of panko breadcrumbs to the remaining bacon grease. Toast the breadcrumbs for about 1 minute, adding a sprinkle of Dan-O's Outlaw Spicy BBQ, stirring until they are golden brown. Set this mixture aside.
  4. Combine the Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the chopped pickles, diced bacon, softened cream cheese, sour cream, and the reserved pickle juice. Mix everything until well combined and creamy.
  5. Transfer the pickle dip mixture to a serving dish and top with the toasted panko breadcrumb mixture for added crunch. Serve with wavy chips for dipping.
