Cheeseburger French Toast

You’ll want breakfast for every meal when you get a taste of this cheeseburger French toast! The subtle sweetness of French toast combined with the subtle heat of Dan-O’s Spicy and the savory flavor of ground beef creates a whirlwind of mouthwatering flavor. There’s a lot of customization you can do to this cheeseburger French toast to make it your own, making it perfect for experimentation!

Make it your own!

Like any good cheeseburger, cheeseburger French toast is yours to make your own. Only you can decide what goes best with it, but here are some of our recommendations. First, caramelized onions are divine here. These soft, and onions bring out a lot of the deeper flavors of the meat and French toast out and play nicely with the acidity of the tomato. You can also substitute ground beef to breakfast sausage for a more traditional breakfast sandwich.

You could easily add some burger sauce or thousand island dressing for a more robust flavor. You can also experiment with the mustard, swapping yellow for a bright and spicy beer mustard, or maybe a more tart Dijon. If you want a little smokiness, and heat you can substitute Dan-O’s spicy for Dan-O’s Chipotle. No matter what you do to spruce up your cheeseburger French toast, you’re bound to have a craving for it time and time again.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • American cheese
  • Dill pickle
  • 2 thin slices of tomato
  • Crisp Lettuce
  • Red onion, thinly sliced
  • High quality mayo
  • Yellow mustard
  • 4 slices Croissant Toast
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • ½ tbsp Dan-O’s Spicy Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Original Seasoning

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat a flat top griddle to medium high.
  2. In a bowl mix together eggs, milk, vanilla extract and Dan-O’s Spicy Seasoning.
  3. Dip toast in egg mixture and grill both sides for 2 minutes or until golden brown, set aside.
  4. In another bowl, mix together the ground beef and Dan-O’s Original Seasoning, form into ¼ lb balls.
  5. Place beef balls on griddle and smash until desired thickness.
  6. Cook both sides for 2-3 minutes, flip and add American cheese cooking for another 2-3 minutes.

Build in this order:

  1. Take one piece of French toast and on one side add mayonnaise, pickles, both cheeseburger patties, mustard, onions, lettuce, tomatoes.
  2. Take a second slice of toast and add mayonnaise and mustard and top the burger.
  3. Slice and enjoy!

  1. Its great. The Spicy Dan-O’s in the french toast is Amazing!

    You can also do a Monte Cristo version with meat (or lunch meat) of your choice and Swiss cheese…and I highly suggest bacon topping. Powdered sugar optional and use raspberry or strawberry jam for dip.
