It’s time to guac and role with 4 ingredient guacamole! This is a super simple, and affordable guacamole recipe. Fresh avocado and cilantro combined with chilies, tomatoes, and Dan-O’s Original Seasoning creates a creamy guacamole that can’t be beat. 4 ingredient guacamole is the perfect addition to our giant steak burrito, philly cheesesteak nachos, or flank steak quesadilla. It also works great as a standalone appetizer!

An Abbreviated History of 4 Ingredient Guacamole

Guacamole dates back to the Aztec Empire during the 1500s. Avocados were an abundant fruit in the region, and the Aztecs would use them in their Ahuaca-Muli, also known as avocad-mixture. When the Spaniards arrived, they became found of Ahuaca-Muli but had a hard time pronouncing the name. It quickly became known as guacamole to the Spaniards. In addition to their name change, they would make small changes to the recipe by including things like chilis, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and lime juice. Despite the Spaniards love for guacamole, it would stay in Central America due to the fact that avocado trees didn’t grow great in Spain.


  • 3 avocados
  • 10 oz can of Hot Rotel
  • ½ bunch cilantro
  • Dan-O’s Original Seasoning

Preparation Instructions

  1. Chop the cilantro, and scoop out the avocado.
  2. Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix thoroughly.
  3. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips, and enjoy!
