Smoky Hot Honey Wings made with chicken seasoning

Description

These wings are flavor-rich! They combine a wonderful blend of flavors. They are sweet, spicy, and smoky. You have to give them a try! This sauce is unlike anything you’ve ever tried. All of these ingredients combine together for one flavorful meal.

This smoky hot honey wings recipe is also great because they are baked. This means that they will be far less greasy and more healthy than a fried alternative.

Ingredients

For the wings:
  • 3 pounds chicken wings, drumettes, and flats separated, tips discarded
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 teaspoon Dan-O’s Chipotle Seasoning
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • Cooking Spray

For the Hot Honey:

  • 1 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 2-3 teaspoons Dan-O’s Chipotle Seasoning
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

For the Hot Honey:

  1. Place all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir to combine and heat until the mixture comes to a simmer.
  3. Turn down the heat to low and simmer for 3 minutes, stirring regularly. Remove from the heat. (Be sure to watch this closely, since it has the tendency to boil over.)

For the Wings:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Pat dry the wings with paper towels.
  3. Add cornstarch, Dan-O’s Seasoning, salt, and pepper to a large mixing bowl and mix together. Add the wings and toss to coat.
  4. Arrange a single layer of wings on a parchment-lined baking sheet. And spritz with cooking spray.
  5. Bake the wings on the middle rack for 30 minutes, then turn the wings over and cook 15-20 more minutes, until they’re crispy and golden the way you like them. Use a meat thermometer to make sure the temp reaches at least 165F.
  6. While they’re baking make the Hot Honey.
  7. Remove the wings from the oven, and toss with Hot Honey. Enjoy!
