Smoky Bourbon BBQ Bone-In Ribeye

Smoky Bourbon BBQ Bone-In Ribeye

Flavors Used:

We're raising the steaks, my friends! Make steak night Dan-Good with the peppery, garlicky flavor of Dan-O's Preem-O® and sweet, smoky Pappy Dan Sprinkles Smoky Barrel BBQ. The BBQ rub is smoked over wood from 15-year-old Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels, bringing big flavor to a juicy ribeye. A medium-heat sear helps keep the sweet seasoning from burning. Slice it up after a good rest and serve warm!

Ingredients

  • ½  tbsp Dan-O's Preem-O®
  • 1  tbsp Pappy Dan Sprinkles Smoky Barrel BBQ
  • 1 bone-in ribeye steak, about 1½ lb and 1½  inches thick
  • 1 tbsp high-heat cooking oil

Preparation Instructions

  1. Season the Steak: Sprinkle Dan-O's Preem-O® over both sides of the steak, then coat both sides with Pappy Dan Sprinkles Smoky Barrel BBQ. Let the seasoned steak stand for 30 minutes before cooking.
  2. Heat the Pan: Preheat a 12-inch heavy skillet over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Add the cooking oil and let it warm before adding the steak. Maintain medium heat to help prevent the sweet BBQ seasoning from burning.
  3. Sear the Steak: Place the steak in the skillet and let it cook for 5 minutes. Flip it and cook the other side for another 5 minutes.
  4. Start checking the internal temperature after 10 minutes. Cook until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part, away from the bone, reads 145°F, about 20–25 minutes total.
  5. Rest the Steak: Transfer the steak to a clean cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  6. Slice and Serve: Cut the steak away from the bone, working around the fat, then slice into serving pieces. Plate it up and Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
