Ingredients

For the Shrimp:

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Pappy Dan Sprinkles Smoky Barrel BBQ Seasoning
  • 1 lb Jumbo Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 tbsp neutral cooking oil

For the Glaze:

  • 1 tbsp Fresh ginger (finely grated or minced)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (finely minced)
  • 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Butter

For the Toppings:

  • 3 Green onions (sliced thin on a sharp diagonal)
  • 1 Fresh lime (cut into wedges)

Preparation Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels. This little step makes a big difference—it helps the shrimp sear instead of steam, giving you that beautiful golden crust.
  2. Place the shrimp in a large bowl, drizzle with the oil, and season generously with Dan-O’s Pappy Dan Sprinkles Smoky Barrel BBQ Seasoning. Toss until every shrimp is evenly coated with bold, bourbon-inspired flavor.
  3. Heat a large cast-iron skillet over high heat until it's smoking hot. You want that pan screaming before the shrimp hit it.
  4. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer and let them sear undisturbed for 1 minute. Resist the urge to move them—this is where all that delicious caramelization happens.
  5. Flip the shrimp over, then immediately add the minced ginger, garlic, and butter to the center of the skillet.
  6. Pour the apple cider vinegar over the garlic and ginger. It'll sizzle like crazy—that's exactly what you want!
  7. Using a spoon or spatula, quickly toss the shrimp in the bubbling butter and vinegar. The sauce will lift all those flavorful browned bits from the pan and transform into a glossy glaze that coats every shrimp.
  8. Cook for 1 more minute, just until the shrimp are cooked through and the glaze is thick and shiny. Remove the skillet from the heat right away to keep the shrimp perfectly tender and juicy.
  9. Serve immediately with fresh lime wedges for squeezing over the top. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!®
