Ingredients

  • Dan-O’s Dips French Onion
  • Dan-O’s Preem-O Seasoning
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pound thick-cut bacon
  • 2-3 naan bread pieces
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • fresh parsley

Preparation Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and a wire rack if you've got one. Lay the bacon out in a single layer and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until it's perfectly crispy. Once it's cool enough to handle, chop it up and set it aside.
  2. While the bacon is doing its thing, let's work on those onions. Melt the butter and olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat, then toss in the onions and stir to coat. Give them a shake of Dan-O's Preem-O and let them start softening up.
  3. After a few minutes, stir in 1 tablespoon of Dan-O's Dips French Onion. Keep cooking, stirring occasionally, until the onions become beautifully golden brown, sweet, and packed with flavor. Good caramelized onions take a little patience, but they're worth every minute.
  4. Now grab your naan and sprinkle half of the cheese evenly over each piece. Pop them into the oven for 4 to 5 minutes, just until the cheese starts melting.
  5. Pull the naan out and top with the remaining cheese, crispy bacon, and those glorious caramelized onions. Return everything to the oven and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the naan is perfectly toasted around the edges.
  6. Finish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness. Slice it up, serve it hot, and Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!®
