Witch Finger Breadsticks

These eerie witch finger breadsticks, made with store-bought pizza dough, get their flavor from Dan-O’s Original and Crunchy Seasonings. Turning each rope of dough in the middle forms a gnarly finger knuckle which, paired with a black olive “nail,” helps to create a haunting and delicious appetizer. Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp Dan-O’s Original seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Crunchy or just sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • All-purpose flour, for dusting
  • 1 pound refrigerated pizza dough, at room temperature
  • Black olives, halved lengthwise
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce, warmed, for serving

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment.
  2. Whisk the oil and Dan-O’s Original Seasoning in a small bowl.
  3. Lightly flour a work surface and divide the dough into 10 equal portions. Roll each portion into a 10-inch piece into a finger-like shape, twisting 1 section slightly wider to resemble a knuckle.
  4. Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Use a knife to make small cuts to resemble knuckles and joints.
  5. Press a black olive half onto the tip of each breadstick to resemble a nail.
  6. Brush the breadsticks with olive oil and sprinkle with Crunchy Seasoning.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Serve the breadsticks warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
