  • 2.5 oz ginger
  • 2.5 oz turmeric
  • 1 oz garlic
  • 2 limes
  • 2 stalks of green onion
  • 1/2 bushel cilantro
  • 1/2 tbsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 Red cabbage
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter milk
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • Dan-O's Original Seasoning

Preparation Instructions

Prep Turmeric Ginger Marinade

  1. Start by deskinning both your turmeric root and ginger, chop up both and put in the blender
  2. Chop up green onion and put in blender
  3. Squeeze 2 limes into the blender
  4. Put half a bushel of cilantro, about an ounce of fresh garlic, 1/2 tbsp pepper, 1/4 cup honey, 1/2 cup extra virgin olive and 2 oz of Dan-O's Original Seasoning into blender
  5. Blend until it turns into a smooth consistency
  6. Cut chicken breasts into strips
  7. Put both the cut chicken breasts and the marinade in a freezer bag and work into chicken thoroughly
  8. Let sit in fridge for at least 24 hours

Cook Chicken

  1. Remove chicken from bag and place it in a pan on medium heat; shake off excess marinade before cooking
  2. Be careful not to overload the pan with too much chicken or too much marinade, it will make it harder to cook chicken evenly
  3. Cook until an even sear is achieved

Make Dressing

  1. Add 1/2 a bushel of cilantro, 1 tbsp of Dan-O's Original Seasoning, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup mayo, and 1/2 cup buttermilk into blender
  2. De-seed a jalapeno and place in blender
  3. Blend until smooth

Cut Cabbage

  1. Cut red cabbage as thin as possible and pull apart

Serve Turmeric Ginger Chicken Dish

  1. Start with a bowl of cilantro lime rice
  2. Place a bed of shredded red cabbage over rice then place chicken
  3. Top chicken with avocado and dressing
