Thanksgiving and the Holidays are upon us, which means an abundance of turkey. Put that turkey to work with these Turkey Sincronizadas! These are fairly popular in Mexico, and once you’ve had a taste you’ll see why. They’re great for a quick lunch, snack, or appetizer and you can make one or a bunch at a time depending on your needs.
Some folk would refer to this as a crispy tortilla snack, but in reality it’s a Turkey Sincronizada. What is that? It’s basically a tortilla based sandwich. They’re normally made with Ham, vegetables, and some cheese between two tortillas. The riff here is that we used turkey, and corn tortillas while most folks prefer flour. What separates this from a quesadilla is the use of two tortillas instead of just folding a single one over.
As mentioned, a standard Sincronizada typically has some sort of vegetable in the filling. We left it out of ours but that doesn’t mean you have to! You could add pretty much anything you’d think would taste good but a classic is some tomatoes and onions. Feel free to experiment with some other fillings and really make these Turkey Sincronizadas your own!
Absolute hit this past weekend at the camp fire.
Made a bunch as per the recipe and a bunch with thinly sliced venison, onion, and peppers.
Could not make them fast enough.
