Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O's Italian-O Seasoning
  • 4 pieces white bread, toasted and crumbled
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes - drain and keep liquid
  • 1/4 cup bacon crumbles
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 package sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter and saute the onion and bell pepper until tender with 1/2 tbsp Dan-O's Italian-O.
  3. Spray a casserole dish with oil or grease with a little butter.
  4. Place bread crumbs in the bottom of the dish in an even layer. Then layer tomatoes, bacon, 1/2 onion pepper mix and then cheese. Sprinkle each layer with Dan-O's Italian-O.
  5. Repeat the layer and then pour the tomato juice over it all. Add sliced tomatoes as a last layer if you got em and then bake covered for 1 hour.
