Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O's Crunchy Seasoning
  • 1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak), thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese (or your favorite cheese blend)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Preparation Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the thinly sliced steak and season with Dan-O’s Crunchy Seasoning. Cook until the steak is browned and cooked through about 5-6 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. In a bowl, mix steak, cheese, onion, and bell pepper. Mix in 1-2 tbsp Dan-O's Crunchy Seasoning.
  5. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface, with one corner pointing toward you (diamond shape). Put a dollop of steak mix in the center. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly. Brush the top corner with egg wash to seal the roll.
  6. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F. Fry the egg rolls in batches for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Oven-baked option: Brush the egg rolls with oil and bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces, like spicy ranch, garlic aioli, or even sweet chili.
