Hellraiser Bacon Wrapped Cabbage Ball

Hellraiser Bacon Wrapped Cabbage Ball

Flavors Used:

Oh, what wonders we have to show you with this hellraiser bacon wrapped cabbage ball! This is a simple recipe that you can whip up for an appetizer with relatively easy. Simply core a cabbage, remove the outer leaves, and then sprinkle Dan-O’s all over with some butter before wrapping in bacon! Cabbage is an interesting vegetable, when you cook it with other things the cabbage is prone to taking on the characteristics of those things. You’ll still get the deep, and lasting flavor but now you’ll taste a rich bacon overtone with the slightly bitter taste of cabbage. We call this the Hellraiser bacon wrapped cabbage ball because when you’re done wrapping the bacon, you’ll be stabbing them in place with toothpicks just like ol’ Pinhead.

Ingredients

  • Cabbage
  • Stick of Butter
  • Dan-O’s Spicy Seasoning
  • 1 lb of bacon

Preparation Instructions

  1. Core out the head of cabbage and tear off a couple of the outer leaves. Add Dan-O’s and butter. Wad up a couple of pieces of bacon and stack those on top. Then, sprinkle with some more Dan-O’s Seasoning.
  2. Now wrap the entire head of cabbage in bacon and sprinkle even more Dan-O’s on top. Place the extra leaves on top of that to stop the bacon from burning.
  3. Place it in the smoker for 3 hours at 300° F.
  4. Take it out and remove all of the bacon. Take the most crispy cooked pieces of bacon and put them in the cabbage. Then wrap the cabbage in bacon again (make sure to flip the bacon so the other side gets cooked). Use toothpicks to keep the bacon in place.
  5. Put it back in the smoker for another 1 hour and you’re done. Serve and enjoy!
