Ingredients

  • Dan-O’s Crunchy Seasoning
  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can French Style Green Beans, drained well
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, defrosted
  • 3 ounces garlic and herb spreadable cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Fried onion strings, for topping

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Drain the green beans and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the creamy cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  4. Unfold the puff pastry onto a pan lined with parchment paper and roll out to about 10x12 inches. Using a knife, score a ½-inch border around the puff pastry and using a fork prick the puff the center of the puff pastry several times.
  5. Spread a thin layer - about 1/8 inch (if it's too thick the pastry won't cook enough) of the creamy cheese mixture onto the puff pastry, avoiding the border.
  6. Mix the green beans with a teaspoon of olive oil and the Dan-O's Crunchy Seasoning, then evenly spread the green beans on top of the cheese layer. If desired, brush the border with egg wash or melted butter and sprinkle with Dan-O's Crunchy Seasoning.
  7. Bake tart for 15–20 minutes, until cooked through and the edges are golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes, then top with crispy fried onion strings. Serve warm.
