Whether you keep it simple or dress it up, it’s perfect as a light dinner, cozy lunch, or the ultimate cold-weather comfort dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 packets Dan-O’s Dips French Onion
  • 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ stick butter (4 tbsp)
  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped into large bite-sized pieces
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken stock

Preparation Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter and add the onion.
  2. Cook onions for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft, browned, and caramelized.
  3. Stir in the Dan-O’s Dips French Onion and mix well with the buttery onions until fragrant.
  4. Pour in 4 cups of chicken stock and stir to combine.
  5. Add the chopped cabbage and mix everything together.
  6. Cover the pot, raise the heat to medium-high, and let the soup simmer for 20–30 minutes, until the cabbage is tender and the broth is rich and flavorful.
