Flavors Used:

Ingredients

  • Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet - Spicy - 1 tsp reserved
  • 4 bolillo, torta, or ciabatta rolls, or similar
  • 2 thinly sliced chicken breasts
  • 2 cups pico de gallo
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • 1 handful cilantro
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • Avocado oil for the griddle

Let’s Make It!

  1. Start by giving your shredded chicken a generous sprinkle of Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet – Spicy. Toss it around until every bite is coated in that bold, spicy goodness.
  2. Preheat a griddle or flat-top grill to medium heat and drizzle with avocado oil. Add about ½ cup of shredded chicken and cook for 5 minutes, flipping occasionally, until heated through.
  3. Add a big spoonful of fresh pico de gallo and a handful of shredded cheese right onto the chicken. Let that cheese melt all over the chicken and hit the hot griddle, getting golden and crispy in spots.
  4. While the chicken gets cheesy, mix 1 teaspoon Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet – Spicy into the mayonnaise until smooth.
  5. Spread the seasoned mayo on both cut sides of your torta roll. Place the bread cut-side down on the griddle and toast for about 2 minutes, or until golden and lightly crispy.
  6. Using a spatula, scoop up the cheesy chicken and pico mixture and pile it onto the bottom half of the toasted roll. Make sure to get all those crispy cheese bits—they're too good to leave behind!
  7. Top with fresh shredded lettuce and chopped cilantro, then add the other half of the toasted roll. Give it a gentle press to hold everything together.
  8. Slice your Loaded Chicken Torta in half and serve warm. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!®
