Flavors Used:

Ingredients

  • 1 Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet - Mild
  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Jalapeño Cheesoning
  • 4 orange, yellow, or red bell peppers
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Let’s Make It!

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x9-inch baking dish, or use any baking dish that comfortably fits your peppers.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook for a few minutes until softened and translucent. Add the ground turkey and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart as it cooks. Remove from the heat.
  3. In a large bowl, gently mix the Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet – Mild, Dan-O’s Jalapeño Cheesoning, egg, tomatoes, and shredded cheese. Fold in the cooked turkey and onions until everything is evenly combined.
  4. Now for the fun part! Wash the bell peppers, slice the tops off the peppers, and scoop out the seeds. Use a sharp paring knife to carefully carve jack-o’-lantern faces into each one. Cut triangle eyes and noses, then give each pepper a spooky, toothy grin.
  5. Spoon the turkey mixture into each carved pepper and arrange them upright in the prepared baking dish. Place the pepper “lids” alongside them while they bake.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the peppers are fork-tender and the filling is hot throughout.
  7. Pop the lids back on and serve your Stuffed Pepper Jack-O’-Lanterns warm.
