Spicy Ground Beef Tacos

Spicy Ground Beef Tacos

Flavors Used:

My friends, taco night just got a whole lot more Dan-Good! These Spicy Beef Tac-Os are an easy weeknight dinner loaded with seasoned beef, crunchy taco shells, crisp lettuce, melty shredded cheese, and taco sauce. Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet - Spicy brings savory garlic, cumin, onion, and zesty citrus peel, then turns up the heat with an extra kick of cayenne and chili peppers. You get bold, spicy taco flavor in every crunchy bite without making dinner complicated. That’s what I call a DAN-O-MYTE taco night!

Ingredients

  • 1 packet Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet - Spicy
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup water
  • 12–14 crunchy taco shells
  • ½ cup taco sauce, divided
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • optional toppings: tomatoes, diced onion, sour cream

Preparation Instructions

  1. Sear and Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium heat until hot. Add the ground beef without breaking it apart and let it sear undisturbed for about 2 minutes. Flip the beef and sear the other side for another 2 minutes. Break the beef apart with a spatula and continue cooking for 3-4 minutes, or until fully cooked and no pink remains.
  2. Drain the Beef: Push the cooked ground beef to one side of the skillet and carefully tilt the skillet so the rendered grease collects on the other side. Carefully remove and discard the excess grease.
  3. Season the Taco Meat: Add the Dan-O’s Tac-O Seasoning Packet - Spicy to the cooked ground beef and pour in the water. Stir until the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the beef. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid has reduced, and the beef is evenly coated.
  4. Crisp the Taco Shells: While the taco meat finishes cooking, preheat the oven to 325°F. Arrange the crunchy taco shells on a baking sheet, staggering them slightly so they stay open while heating. Bake for 6–7 minutes, or until warmed through and crispy.
  5. Build the Tac-Os: Fill each warm taco shell with the seasoned ground beef. Drizzle with some of the taco sauce, then top with shredded lettuce and shredded cheese. Finish each taco with another light drizzle of the remaining taco sauce.
  6. Serve: Serve and Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
