Chili Dip

Chili Dip

Flavors Used:

If you need an easy, loaded dip for game day, a party, or anytime you’re feeding a crowd, this Chili Dip is one Dan-Good way to do it! We’re layering softened cream cheese with a hearty beef chili made with Dan-O’s Chili Seasoning Packet - Mild, tomato sauce, and a splash of Dr Pepper that adds just the right touch of sweetness. Then we’re loading it up with Fiesta blend cheese, fresh Roma tomatoes, and sliced jalapeños before baking it until hot, creamy, and cheesy. Here’s a little trick: cook and drain your ground beef before adding the seasoning so all that Dan-O’s flavor stays right where you want it.

Ingredients

  • 2 Dan-O’s Chili Seasoning Packets - Mild
  • 2 lbs 80/20 ground beef
  • 2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 cup Dr Pepper
  • 2 (8 oz) blocks cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups Fiesta blend shredded cheese
  • 3 Roma tomatoes, diced
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, thinly sliced
  • 1 bag scoop-style tortilla chips, for serving

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F and position a rack in the upper third of the oven. Set aside a 9 × 13-inch baking dish for assembling the dip.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: Add the ground beef to a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, breaking the beef into small crumbles as it cooks, until it is browned and fully cooked. Remove and discard the excess rendered grease.
  3. Make the Dr Pepper Chili: Reduce the heat to medium and add the Dan-O’s Chili Seasoning Packet - Mild to the drained ground beef. Stir until the meat is evenly coated with the seasoning, then add the tomato sauce and Dr Pepper. Stir everything together and cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. Make the Cream Cheese Layer: Spread the softened cream cheese evenly across the bottom of the 9 × 13-inch baking dish, making sure the entire bottom is covered in an even layer.
  5. Assemble the Chili Dip: Spoon the warm Dr Pepper chili evenly over the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle the Fiesta blend shredded cheese over the chili, then evenly scatter the diced Roma tomatoes across the top. Finish by arranging the sliced jalapeños over the tomatoes and cheese.
  6. Bake the Dip: Place the baking dish on the upper oven rack and bake at 400°F for 25 minutes, or until the dip is heated through and the cheese is completely melted. Remove the dish from the oven and let the dip cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
  7. Serve: Serve the Dr Pepper Chili Dip warm with scoop-style tortilla chips, and Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
