Cheeseburger Pizza

Cheeseburger Pizza

Flavors Used:

This cheeseburger pizza takes me back to when I used to work at the bar and would cook up fun, over-the-top pizzas like this. When I started Dan-O’s, I knew we had to do a hamburger-style pizza the Dan-O’s way. This one brings burger night and pizza night together in one cast iron skillet with a ketchup and mustard base, Dan-O’s Preem-O seasoned hamburger meat, melty American cheese, fresh Roma tomatoes, cheddar, and a crispy Dan-O’s Cheesoning crust. It’s bold, cheesy, crispy around the edges, and tastes just like a cheeseburger pizza should. Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Cheesoning
  • ½ tbsp Dan-O’s Preem-O Seasoning
  • 1 ball pizza dough, room temperature
  • ⅓ cup oil
  • 4 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 4 tbsp ketchup
  • ¼ cup onion, diced
  • 1 lb ground hamburger meat, cooked and seasoned with Dan-O’s Preem-O Seasoning
  • 8 slices of American cheese
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Preparation Instructions

  1. Rest and Stretch the Dough: Let the pizza dough sit out at room temperature for about 6 hours before using. Once the dough is soft and airy, gently press it down to release some of the air. Stretch the dough by hand until it is large enough to fit your cast iron pan.
  2. Prepare the Cast Iron Pan: Add the oil to a large cast iron pan and coat the bottom well. Sprinkle Dan-O’s Cheesoning directly over the oil so it covers the bottom of the pan. This helps create a crispy, cheesy crust as the pizza cooks.
  3. Build the Pizza Base: Place the stretched pizza dough into the prepared cast iron pan. Add the yellow mustard and ketchup over the dough, then spread them out to create the sauce base. Add the diced onion evenly over the sauce.
  4. Add the Hamburger Meat and American Cheese: Add the cooked, Dan-O’s Preem-O-seasoned ground hamburger meat over the onion. Sprinkle part of the divided Dan-O’s Preem-O Seasoning over the meat, then layer the American cheese slices over the top.
  5. Finish the Pizza Toppings: Sprinkle the remaining Dan-O’s Preem-O Seasoning over the American cheese. Add the diced Roma tomatoes evenly over the top.
  6. Start the Pizza on the Stovetop: Place the cast iron pan on the hottest burner over high heat. Cook for about 3 minutes, or until the edges start bubbling and the bottom gets hot.
  7. Bake the Pizza: Transfer the cast iron pan to a preheated 400°F oven. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the crust is cooked through and crispy around the edges.
  8. Add the Cheddar: Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the top. Let the residual heat melt the cheddar before slicing.
  9. Slice and Serve: Cut the hamburger pizza into slices, making sure to cut all the way through the crispy crust and Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
