This is how you make flank steak the Gold Standard way. The Dan-O’s way. Dan-O’s SPG Tri-O Seasoning is our take on salt, pepper, and garlic all-purpose seasoning done right. Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp Dan-O’s SPG Tri-O (Salt, Pepper, Garlic) Seasoning
  • 1 (2 lb) flank steak
  • 1/2 stick unsalted Kerrygold butter
  • 3 tbsp avocado oil or high smoke point oil

Preparation Instructions

  1. Heat the pan: Place a cast-iron pan over high heat for 2 minutes. Once hot and just starting to smoke, lower the heat to medium.
  2. Season the steak: Season the flank steak generously on both sides with Dan-O’s Gold Standard Seasoning, pressing it in well.
  3. Add the butter and oil: Add the butter and the high smoke point oil to the pan and let it heat through.
  4. Cook the steak: Place the steak in the pan and cook over medium heat, flipping it 6 times total, or about every 3 minutes, until the thickest part reaches 133°F. Adjust the heat as needed while cooking.
  5. Rest the steak: Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Slice and serve: Slice thinly against the grain and serve hot. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
