Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Yukon gold potatoes
  • 1 ¼ sticks of butter, divided
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup Dan-O’s Cheesoning Seasoning
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped

Preparation Instructions

  1. On the stovetop, bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  2. Peel the potatoes and cut them into 2-3 inch pieces.
  3. Carefully add the peeled, cut potatoes to the boiling water and cook until fork-tender.
  4. Drain the water and return the potatoes to the pot, covering with a lid to keep warm.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt 1 stick of butter and add minced garlic. Heat until the garlic is fragrant and bubbly.
  6. Place the cooked potatoes back onto the stovetop on medium-low heat.
  7. Pour the melted garlic butter over the potatoes and mash to combine.
  8. Mix in Dan-O’s Cheesoning and grated parmesan cheese, continuing to mash until smooth.
  9. Stir in milk until creamy, adding more milk for a thinner consistency if desired.
  10. Transfer the hot mashed potatoes to a bowl, create a swirl, and top with more butter until melted.
  11. Garnish with fresh chopped chives and serve.

    1. I had to order it directly from Dan-O’s because none of my local supermarkets carried anything other than the Original and Spicy.
