Dan-Good Grilled Honey Mustard Wings Recipe

Flavors Used:

Honey mustard and chicken = a match made in heaven. The only way to beat that is to have the combo on grilled chicken wings with the Dan-Good flavor. These wings can be made on any type of grill, too! And they’re super easy.

I do recommend brining your chicken wings (recipe below). It adds so much flavor! The honey mustard is a simple combo of equal parts honey and dijon mustard, a few pops of Dan-O’s Seasoning, and a splash of hot sauce & pickle juice. Why the pickle juice? It adds a little more acid and tanginess and helps keep the sauce from being too thick.

For the grilling part, I used my electric infrared grill, which means I have to mess with the temperature a bit. If you’re using a gas grill, make sure you have it set up for indirect cooking, as you’ll want to finish the wings on the indirect side. If you are using a charcoal grill, do the same thing! Have a hot side and a finishing side. If you’re using a smoker, well, then do your thing.

Serve Dan-Good Grilled Honey Mustard Wings with fries or side of choice. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 10-12 chicken drumettes or flats
  • 2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Splash of pickle juice
  • Dan-O’s Original Seasoning

For the brine (optional):

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • Splash of spicy pickle juice
  • Dash of hot sauce
  • Dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • A few cracks of black pepper
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Original Seasoning

Preparation Instructions

  1. Make your brine by mixing all brine ingredients together. Add chicken pieces to brine and loosely cover. Place in fridge for 6 hours. Remove chicken from brine and dry with paper towels. Coat both sides of chicken in a nice layer of original Dan-O’s Seasoning.
  2. Make your honey mustard by mixing equal parts honey and dijon mustard. Add a dash of hot sauce and a splash of pickle juice. Dan-O’s to taste.
  3. Heat your grill up to high (about 500 degrees), and add chicken wings. Sear each wing for about 2-3 minutes per side. Turn heat down (250-300 degrees) and take chicken off of direct heat. Add to warming rack or indirect side of the grill to finish cooking.
  4. Once chicken reaches 150-155 degrees internal, brush your honey mustard on. Cook for another minute or two on each side (over hot grates) until sauce caramelizes and wings finish cooking.
  5. Remove from grill and allow to cool before eating. Enjoy!
