Argentine Shrimp

Argentine Shrimp

Flavors Used:

If you’ve never had Argentine shrimp before, you’re in for a DAN-O-MYTE surprise. These shrimp are known for their deep red color and rich, almost lobster-like texture once cooked. Dan-O’s Chile Lime Seasoning, fresh cilantro, and lime juice bring a big, bright flavor with the perfect mix of citrus, herb, and a little kick. The cornstarch helps the seasoning cling to the shrimp and creates a light coating as they cook in the pan. Butter adds a rich finish, while the oil helps the shrimp cook quickly and evenly. Before you know it, you’ve got a fresh, flavorful shrimp dish that tastes Dan-Good in just minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O’s Chile Lime Seasoning
  • 1 lb Argentine red shrimp, peeled
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 heaping tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Preparation Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp: Place the shrimp in a bowl. Sprinkle with Dan-O’s Chile Lime Seasoning. Add the chopped cilantro. Squeeze the juice of 1 lime over the shrimp. Add the cornstarch. Mix well until the shrimp are evenly coated.
  2. Heat the pan: Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add 1 tbsp of butter and cooking oil. Once hot, reduce the heat to medium-high.
  3. Cook the shrimp: Add the shrimp in a single layer. After about 45 seconds, gently shake the pan and begin flipping the shrimp. Cook for about 2 minutes more, or until the shrimp are opaque and curl into a loose “C” shape. Turn off the heat.
  4. Finish and serve: Add the remaining butter and let it melt from the residual heat. Squeeze the juice of the second lime over the shrimp. Let the shrimp sit briefly in the buttery lime sauce before serving. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum
