Ingredients

  • 1 packet Dan-O’s Dips French Onion
  • 3 tbsp Dan-O’s Original Seasoning
  • 1-2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3-6 slices of bacon
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • diced dill pickles, for garnish
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • minced fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Preparation Instructions

  1. Preheat that oven to 350°F. Grab yourself an 8-inch cast-iron skillet (or a baking dish) and give it a quick spray so nothing sticks.
  2. Now take your shredded cheeses, mix ‘em up, and set aside about ½ cup for the top—we’re gonna get that golden, bubbly finish later.
  3. Let’s talk bacon. Throw those slices in a skillet over medium-low heat and cook ‘em slow until they’re crispy and perfect. Pull ‘em out and let ‘em rest on a paper towel—don’t snack on all of it…save some for the dip!
  4. In another skillet over medium-high heat, add a little olive oil and toss in your onions. Cook ‘em down until soft and translucent—about 4–5 minutes. Then add your ground beef and hit it generously with Dan-O’s Original. Break it up and cook until it’s nice and browned. Drain that excess fat—we want flavor, not grease.
  5. Once your bacon’s cool, chop it up into bite-sized goodness.
  6. Now grab a big mixing bowl and bring it all together: bacon, beef, onions, 1 tablespoon Dan-O’s Dips French Onion, 2 tablespoons Dan-O’s Original, a splash of Worcestershire sauce, cream cheese, and about 1 cup of your shredded cheese mix. Stir it up until it’s creamy and cheesy.
  7. Transfer that mixture into your prepared skillet or baking dish, then top it off with that reserved ½ cup of cheese.
  8. Into the oven it goes for about 12–15 minutes, until it’s hot, bubbly.
  9. Pull it out, then top it with diced dill pickles and a little fresh parsley if you’re feelin’ fancy.
  10. Serve it up hot with some potato chips and watch it disappear. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!®
