How We Use Your Information

We use your information for a variety of purposes, including to:

  • Provide our Site to you. We use your information to provide our Site and related services to you, including to: (1) facilitate your access and use of our Site; (2) to fulfill orders and process your receipts and feedback on products to facilitate your participation in the services, including but not limited to any applicable promotion, rebate or reward programs such as our Dan-O’s VIP List; (3) send you notifications relating to your participation in our email subscription services; (4) answer your Communications; and (5) perform other related business functions.
  • Communicate with You. We use your information to engage in Communications with you, such as to respond to your requests, inquiries, issues, feedback, and to provide customer service.
  • Market and Advertise. We also use your information to show you advertisements for our products and to administer our rewards, discounts, sweepstakes, and contests.     • URL Tracking (UTM and Amazon Attribution): We may use tracking parameters in URL’s to analyze the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns, including those on Amazon.
    • TikTok Ads Tracking: TikTok Ads may be used to deliver targeted content to you.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

  • “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier.
  • “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

We and our third-party partners use cookies, pixels, web beacons, and tags, and other similar online tracking technologies to gather information about you when you use our Site, interact with some of our Products, and engage in Communications with us. Some of the online tracking technologies are used to maintain the security of our Site, manage your account, prevent crashes, fix bugs, save your preferences, assist with basic Site functions, advertising, analytics, and other performance functions.

Analytics and Advertising

Analytics: We use analytics services, such as Google Analytics, to help us understand how users access and use the Site. Analytics help us understand how you are using our Site, including the means in which you interact with our Site, Communications and advertisements.

Advertising. In addition, we work with agencies, advertisers, ad networks, and other technology services to place ads about our products and services on other websites and services. For example, we place ads through Google, Bing, and Facebook that you may view on their platforms as well as on other websites and services. As part of this process, we may incorporate tracking technologies into our own Site and services (including our Communications) as well as into our ads displayed on other websites and services. How Do We Protect Your Data

Although no system can guarantee the complete security of your information, we take all commercially reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected in alignment with all applicable laws and regulations, as appropriate to the sensitivity of your information.

How Long We Retain Your Data

We keep your information for as long as is necessary in accordance with the purpose for which it was collected, our business needs, and our legal and regulatory obligations. If we dispose of your information, we will do so in a way that is secure and appropriate to nature of the information subject to disposal.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any and all changes will be reflected on this page, and where appropriate provided in person or by another electronic method. The effective date will be stated at the top of this Policy. You should regularly check this page for any changes to this Policy.

Children

Our Site and products are not intended for children under the age of 13. This includes any links to other websites that we provide for our convenience. We do not knowingly collect or use personal information about children under 13 without parental consent. We have no way to determine the age of those who use our Site and request that no one under the age of 13 use the Site or provide any personal information. We will remove any personal information of those under the age of 13 if we discover that we have inadvertently collected it.

International Users

The Site is both hosted in the United States and is subject to U.S. law and is intended for users located only in the United States. By accessing the using the Site, you consent to the transfer to and processing of your personal information in the U.S.

User Generated Content

Any information or material that you may upload onto the public area of the Site (User Generated Content) is not confidential or proprietary. You grant, and warrant that you have the right to grant to Dan-O’s, its affiliates, distributors and suppliers, a non-exclusive, non-revocable, worldwide, transferable, royalty-free, perpetual right to use your User Generated Content in any manner of media now or later developed for any purpose, commercial, advertising or otherwise, including the right to store translate, display, perform, reproduce, modify, create derivative works, sub-license, distribute, assign and commercialize without any payment due to you.

If you use a public area of the Site, such as a discussion board, chat room, blog, bulletin board or testimonial form, you are solely responsible for your own communications, the consequences of posting those communications and your reliance on any communications found in the public areas. You will not post any content which you are not properly authorized to post and will indemnify and hold Dan-O’s, along with its affiliates, distributors and suppliers harmless for any consequences arising from your breach of this provision. We also reserve the right to delete, edit, or omit any offensive comments posted at any such public areas of the Site.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

A. Accounts and Comments

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. Please note that we will retain and use any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes, or as otherwise needed to enforce our agreements.

B. Communications

Email Marketing. Users may opt-in to our email subscription list through the newsletter signup, account pages, or online shop. Emails may also be collected (when users opt-in) through giveaways and promotional campaigns. Email subscribers will receive a variety of scheduled emails, including recipes, giveaways, and special offers.

Email lists may be shared with our affiliates, including subsidiaries and marketing partners. Users have the option to unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time through our account section or by following the unsubscribe link on a recent email.

If you provide your email address to us through other means without conditions, we may use your email address to send you promotional emails until you opt-out.

You can opt-out of receiving promotional emails from us at any time by following the instructions as provided in emails to click on the unsubscribe link, or emailing us at the email address set out as set out in the Contact Us section below with the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject field of the email. Please note that you cannot opt-out of non-promotional emails, such as those about your account, transactions, servicing, or our ongoing business relations.

We will never sell your email address or information to third parties.

C. Retention of Personal Information:

Subject to certain exceptions under the CPRA, California residents may have the following rights with respect to their personal information collected by us:
The right to know and access. California residents have the right to request we disclose: (1) the personal information that we collect about you; (2) the categories of personal information that we collected about you in the preceding 12 months; (3) the categories of purposes for which such personal information was disclosed in the preceding 12 months; (4) the categories of sources for which such personal information was collected; and (5) the categories of third parties with whom such personal information may have been shared.

The right to deletion. California residents have the right to request that we delete the personal information that we or our vendors collected about you. There may be circumstances where we will be unable to delete your personal information. If we are unable to comply with your request for deletion, we will let you know the reason why.

The right to correct inaccurate information. California residents have the right to request that a business maintaining inaccurate personal information about the resident correct that inaccurate personal information.

The right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information. California residents have the right to direct that a business that sells or shares his or her personal information does not sell or share such information.

Right to no retaliation. California residents have a right of non-retaliation if they choose to exercise a consumer right. If a California resident chooses to exercise any of these rights, we will not discriminate.

Right to limit and use and disclosure of sensitive personal information. California residents have the right to request that we limit our use of their sensitive personal information to that use which is necessary to perform the services or provide the goods reasonably expected by an average consumer of such services or goods.

The right to opt out of automated decision-making technology. If automated decision-making technology like profiling is used, California residents have a right to request meaningful information about the logic involved in automated decision-making technology and a description of the likely outcome of the process with respect to them.

E. Exercising California Privacy Rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@danosseasoning.com. In connection with submitting a request, you must provide the following information: your name, email address, phone number, and state of residency and what type of request you are making.

Only a California resident may make a verifiable consumer request related to his or her personal information. A California resident may only make a verifiable consumer request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable consumer request must provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify the requestor is the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative and describe the request with sufficient detail that allows us to understand and respond. We cannot respond to a request or provide personal information if we cannot verify the identity or authority to make the request.

F. Sharing of California Resident Personal Information

We may have disclosed your personal information identified above for a business purpose to the following categories of third parties: (a) our parent companies, affiliates, and/or joint venture partners; (b) our data analytics partners; (c) social media networks; (d) our service providers and security partners and (e) third parties. We may have shared your personal information set forth in the categories identified above to government agencies, law enforcement and our service providers.

G. Do Not Track Signals

Some web browsers have “Do Not Track” or similar features that allow you to tell each website you visit that you do not want your activities on that website tracked. Presently, our Site does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals and will continue to collect information about you even if your browser’s “Do Not Track” feature is activated. H. Shine the Light Law

California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits California residents who are users of our Site to request information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any material changes to the Privacy Policy, we will post notice of the changes and the updated Privacy Policy on the Site, along with its effective date, and any other notifications as required by law.
