Ingredients

1 packet Dan-O’s Dips French Onion
24 oz shredded or cubed hashbrowns
2 - 4.5oz cans of cream of onion Soup
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 1/2 cups sour cream
8 oz shredded mozzarella
8 oz shredded Swiss
6 oz crunchy onions
1/2 stick butter - melted
1 tbsp butter

Preparation Instructions

Caramelize the Onions: Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions along with 1 tablespoon Dan-O's Dips French Onion and cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and lightly caramelized. Your kitchen is about to smell amazing!
Mix the Potato Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining Dan-O's Dips French Onion with all of the remaining casserole ingredients—except the crunchy onions and the half stick of butter. Fold everything together until well combined, then stir in the caramelized onions. Spread the mixture evenly into a deep baking dish.
Make the Crispy Topping: Melt the ½ stick of butter, then toss it with the crunchy fried onions until every bite is coated in buttery goodness. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the potato casserole.
