Chicken Schnitzel

Flavors Used:

Chicken Schnitzel isn’t just fun to say — it’s fun to eat! This crispy, golden-breaded masterpiece is a one-way ticket to flavor town, where every bite delivers a satisfying crunch followed by juicy, tender chicken. Perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing your in-laws, Chicken Schnitzel is a no-fuss recipe that’s all about simple ingredients and bold results. By using Dan-O’s Original and Preem-O Seasonings, you’ll give your schnitzel a flavorful twist that’ll have everyone asking for seconds. Pro tip: Serve it with lemon wedges and a side of fries or salad. Or just eat it straight off the pan — we won’t judge.

Serve these up with some Cajun Garlic Fries and some Hickory Bacon Green Beans.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dan-O's Original Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Dan-O's Preem-O
  • 8 chicken cutlets or 4 breasts, butterflied
  • ½ cups flour
  • 4 eggs
  •  cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup cooking oil

Preparation Instructions

  1. Place chicken between two sheets of parchment paper or plastic wrap and flatten with a meat mallet.
  2. Get 3 wide shallow bowls, good for dredging. In one, mix the flour and 1 tbsp Dan-O's Original. Whisk eggs into a second bowl. Mix the breadcrumbs, 1 tbsp Dan-O's Original, and 1 tsp Dan-O's Preem-O in another bowl.
  3. Coat the chicken first in the flour, then in the eggs, and finally in the seasoned breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat ½ inch vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Carefully lay the chicken in the hot oil and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Remove the cooked schnitzel from the pan and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
  7. Serve with some lemon slices and your favorite sauce and sides!
