Korean BBQ Ribs

Flavors Used:

These Korean Pop BBQ Party Ribs are all about big flavor without the all-day cook! We cut the ribs into individual pieces and soak them in a bold marinade with gochujang, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and Dan-O’s Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ. That seasoning brings sweet, savory, garlicky, umami-rich Korean-inspired BBQ flavor that works Dan-Good with pork. These aren’t fall-off-the-bone ribs, they’re quick-grilled, flavor-packed party ribs with a little char on the outside and plenty of juicy goodness inside. Put a little Korean Pop on it and make it pop, pop!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Dan-O’s Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ, plus 2 tbsp
  • 2 racks of pork ribs
  • 1½ tbsp mirin
  • 1 (7.5 oz) container gochujang
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 cup water

Preparation Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of each rack. Use a fork to loosen one edge, slide your fingers underneath, and pull the membrane away. Cut the racks between the bones into individual ribs.
  2. Make the Marinade: Place the ribs in a large pan. Add ½ cup Dan-O’s Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ, mirin, gochujang, sesame oil, ginger paste, garlic paste, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, olive oil, and water. Mix until everything is well combined and the ribs are coated in the marinade.
  3. Marinate the Ribs: Press the ribs into the marinade so they are submerged as much as possible. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  4. Preheat the Grill: Preheat the grill over low heat. Keep the temperature low to help prevent the sugar in the marinade and seasoning from burning.
  5. Grill and Season: Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them on the preheated grill. Sprinkle generously with 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ and cook over low heat.
  6. Flip the Ribs: After about 5 minutes, check the ribs. Once they release easily from the grill, flip them and sprinkle again with the remaining Dan-O’s Outlaw Korean Pop BBQ.
  7. Finish Grilling: Continue grilling over low heat, checking the ribs frequently so they do not burn. Cook for about 20–30 minutes total.
  8. Rest the Ribs: Transfer the ribs to a foil pan and tightly wrap or cover the pan. Let the ribs rest for 20–30 minutes, allowing them to continue cooking in their juices.
  9. Serve: Uncover the ribs, and Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!
