Ingredients

For the meatballs:

  • 3 tbsp Dan-O’s Korean Pop BBQ
  • 1lb ground chicken (turkey or beef works too)
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 3 large green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons of ginger, grated or pasted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup of a neutral oil (for frying)
  • Sesame seeds
  • white rice

For the sauce:

  • 1 tbsp Dan-O’s Korean Pop BBQ
  • 1/4 cup of rice wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp of honey
  • 1 tsp garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tsp of ginger, grated or pasted
  • 1 tsp of toasted sesame oil

Preparation Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, sliced green onions, grated ginger, egg, and 3 tablespoons of Dan-O's Korean Pop BBQ Seasoning. Mix until everything is just combined—you want tender meatballs, not tough ones.
  2. Roll the mixture into 20 tablespoon-sized meatballs and set them aside.
  3. Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the meatballs in a single layer. Cook, turning occasionally, until they're browned on all sides and cooked through.
  4. Transfer the cooked meatballs to a paper towel-lined plate while you make the sauce.
Carefully wipe out any excess oil from the skillet and return it to medium heat.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, and 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil until smooth.
  6. Pour the sauce into the skillet and bring it to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for a minute or two until it starts to thicken slightly.
  7. Return the meatballs to the skillet and toss until every meatball is coated in that sweet, savory glaze. Let them simmer for a few minutes until they're warmed through and beautifully glazed.
  8. Serve over steamed rice and finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and extra sliced green onions. These Asian Meatballs are sweet, savory, sticky, and packed with bold Dan-O's Korean Pop BBQ flavor. Yum Yum Get Ya Sum!®
